Farner Aviation – 1934 – 2014

The roots of Farner Aviation date back to 1934 when Willy Farner (1905 - 1978), a graduate engineer and entrepreneur set up an aircraft factory at Grenchen Airport, Switzerland, where he constructed and built about 40 different types of gliders and single engine aircraft. Willy Farner was a pioneer of the Swiss aviation, he designed and built at the age of 18 years his first hang-glider, was holder of the glider license No. 1 in Switzerland and served as pilot officer in the Swiss air force.

In the last eighty years the Farner enterprises were active in aircraft, aircraft engine and aircraft component manufacturing, aircraft maintenance and air freight operations.

FARNER has always been combining its devoted dedication to aviation with its steadfast commitment to Swiss reliability and quality standards.

Today Farner Aviation AG, the third Farner generation, specializes in large aircraft engine and component trading and is still based at Grenchen Airport.
